Monte Carlo once again becomes the epicenter of flowers with an edition that brings together tradition, culture, and tourism. October 8th to 12th, Juan Vortisch Park hosts the 34th National Orchid Festival and the 41st Provincial Flower Festival, an event that grows in scope and projection every year.
For five days, the city proposes an agenda that combines orchid and bromeliad exhibition and competition with live shows, fairs, and activities for all ages, reinforcing Montecarlo's role as a benchmark for floriculture in Misiones.
Program and featured activities
The schedule includes performances on the main stage, presentations by local and national artists and the classic election of queens, a ritual that brings together neighbors and visitors and is part of the event's identity.

One of the focuses of the programming is the Band Night at the Cultural Hall on Martín Lutero Street, opening at 20:30 p.m. The Mariana Aratto Institute of Dance, Cristian Wagner and La Ruta (21:00 p.m.), Batería Legal (22:00 p.m.), Los Vilas (23:00 p.m.), Los Hermanos Scherer (1:00 a.m.), and Julio Da Rosa (3:00 a.m.) will be performing on stage.
Along with the shows, more than 15 free trainings on orchidology, floriculture, edible flowers, mushrooms, bamboo, and sustainable productive innovation, with specialists sharing techniques and best practices.
The property offers recreational spaces for children and youth, as well as a trade and craft fair with regional offerings and a gastronomic sector with food courts, buffets, and ice cream parlors managed by local entities.
Also on the agenda is Orchid Athletics Test, scheduled for Sunday, with distances of 1K, 2K, 5K and 10K, integrating sport and the natural environment in a day open to all categories.
Exhibition and competition: absolute protagonists
The exhibition brings together growers, collectors and enthusiasts with more than 400 orchids in competition and a total of more than 450 plants on display, evaluated by a team of 20 experts in charge of admission and judging.
Participating specimens from Santa Fe, Salta, Tucumán, Chaco, Córdoba, Corrientes and different points of Misiones, in addition to contingents from Paraguay and Brazil, contributing diversity and level to the exhibition.
The native orchid Miltonia flavescens Herz has a special place in this edition: the Deliberative Council distinguished Carlos Walter Fritz for his conservation work, and a specimen of his cultivation was highlighted as a highlight of the exhibition.
La Misioflor Cooperative adds its experience to the landscaping pavilion, which impresses with its design and variety of flowers and species, consolidating the role of nursery growers and the local productive fabric.
Organization, economy and tourism
The opening ceremony was led by Governor Hugo Passalacqua and Mayor Julio “Chun” Barreto, along with provincial and municipal authorities, in a ceremony that included a ribbon cutting and a tour of the fairgrounds.
The Deliberative Council of Montecarlo declared the Juan Vortisch Park permanent headquarters of both events, reinforcing its role as a nerve center of floriculture and cultural activity in the region.
In terms of participation, the fair integrates more than 120 stands of entrepreneurs, artisans, and businesses, with around 40 nursery growers, as well as five food courts, six buffets, and two ice cream parlors, managed by clubs and educational centers.
Tourist movement grows year after year: a hotel occupancy close to 90%, the arrival of more than 15 national and international contingents and thousands of visitors since the beginning, with an organization that mobilizes more than 2.500 people from the community.
Floriculture is promoted as economic and social vector, by generating employment, fostering local roots, and boosting the local economy—a vision shared by the public sector, producers, and technical entities such as INTA and Biofábrica.
