Monte Carlo once again becomes a meeting point for thousands of visitors with an agenda that combines nature, culture, and community. October 8 and 12, the historical Juan Vortisch Park It hosts the 34th National Orchid Festival and the 41st Provincial Flower Festival, two celebrations that encapsulate the Misiones identity and its connection with ornamental cultivation.
During five days, the venue is filled with activity: live shows, artistic presentations and the already traditional election of the queens They share the stage with exhibitions, talks and activities for the whole family, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Dates, venue and spirit of the celebration

The heart of the event beats in the exhibition and competition orchid and bromeliad exhibition, where growers, collectors, and enthusiasts present specimens unique for their diversity and quality. The specialized jury evaluates each plant using technical criteria to highlight the best of the year.
In addition, they offer talks and open training sessions on orchidology, floriculture, edible flowers, mushrooms, bamboo and productive innovations, reinforcing the educational nature of the proposal and the responsible care of the species.
The park —a natural area of six hectares and with almost nine decades of history—has recreational spaces, a gastronomic sector with typical foods and a large commercial and craft fair with regional products, which complete the experience for visitors of all ages.

Official opening, authorities and recognitions

The opening ceremony was led by Governor Hugo Passalacqua, together with the mayor Julio “Chun” Barreto, provincial and municipal authorities, and representatives of the floriculture sector. At the ceremony, the deliberative Council declared Juan Vortisch Park as the permanent venue for both events, and the traditional ribbon cutting was held with a tour of the fairgrounds.

Exhibition, competitions and training
The exhibition brings together more than 400 orchids in bloom from different parts of Misiones and provinces such as Santa Fe, Salta, Tucumán, Chaco, Córdoba and Corrientes, as well as specimens from Paraguay and Brazil. A team of 20 experts carries out the tasks of admission and technical judging.
Along with the contest, there are exhibits bromeliads of various collections, reinforcing the educational profile of the fair and promoting the exchange of knowledge between specialists and the general public.
The training approach includes free trainings for several days, with content ranging from cultivation and conservation to sustainable practices and innovations for production.
On the artistic level, the programming includes four nights of regional music and dances, a stage with youth-oriented proposals, and two afternoons focused on children and families, with fun activities to introduce the little ones to the world of plants.
As a special activity, on Sunday morning the 12th the Orchid Athletics Test with distances of 1K, 2K, 5K and 10K. The registration is free and provides benefits such as access to the grounds and raffles for participants.
Fairs, services and tourism outreach
The trade and plant fair brings together more than 120 stands of entrepreneurs, artisans and businesses, along with 40 nursery growers. They add up 5 food courts, 6 buffets y 2 ice cream shops, operated by local educational centers and clubs.
The organization involves around 2.500 people of the community, with the support of more than 40 companies and organizations: Government of Misiones, Ministry of Tourism, Provincial Roads, INTA, Biofábrica, Ministry of Ecology, Volunteer Firefighters, Electric Cooperative and the Municipality of Montecarlo, among others.
This year the presence of the Misioflor Cooperative in the main landscaping pavilion and at the fair, providing experience and strengthening the local productive network.
