From 15 to August 18, the Jose Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden Bogotá becomes the meeting point for those who enjoy the art of bonsai. The event offers a journey that combines technique, sensitivity, and nature with an educational approach accessible to all audiences.
In this fourth edition you will be able to see 124 copies worked by 21 specialists from different regions. The exhibition combines exhibition, training, and culture, with activities that cover everything from basic care to the philosophy behind this practice.
The exhibition: proposals and contents
The program combines workshops and conferences with demonstrations and technical talks, so that both beginners and those already practicing can find useful resources. In addition, there will be sales area with bonsai trees, tools, substrates and specific supplies, and a gastronomic offer to complete the visit.
The exhibition will feature a variety of species and styles: black pine, juniperus and guayacan, in addition to maples, bamboos, ficus, orange trees, and other varieties that demonstrate the breadth of approaches to contemporary bonsai. La Colombian Bonsai Association will lead guided tours under the motto “Designed Nature, a botanical journey between species, climates and styles,” an invitation to understand the work behind each piece and the role of native species in miniature art.
The cultural component incorporates theatre, music and wellness practices: there will be sessions of yoga, tai chi and stage proposals such as the work "The Eternal Journey", in addition to a performance by the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra in the Barrio and a medicine music concert by singer-songwriter Juan Pablo.
The exhibition itinerary is divided into five thematic zones With distinct approaches: the Educational Dome, the Environmental Classroom, the Biodiversity Classroom, the Monopteros, and the Herbal Dome; each space offers a complementary visual and sensory experience.

General admission is priced at $10.000 For children over 6 years old; children under 5 are admitted free of charge. For conservation and security reasons, entry is not permitted. Pets, intoxicated persons, cigarettes, or psychoactive substances are not permitted. We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear, and bringing a raincoat or umbrella if rain threatens. The garden has wheelchair subject to availability at the entrance.
