El Plasencia City Council has focused on Los Pinos Park with a comprehensive improvement plan that is progressing in phases. The next stage includes safety measures and renovation work to improve the park's usability, comfort, and maintenance, reinforcing its role as a green lung for the Pilar neighborhood.
After a first intervention already carried out, the council is preparing a new series of works that will be addressed from the video surveillance and access control to the modernization of lighting and the rehabilitation of trails, with an eye toward more efficient management of the space and the care of its fauna.
Security and access control
Among the most notable measures is the installation of surveillance cameras distributed throughout the premises, along with systems of entrance control or with a automatic door closingThe goal is to increase security, prevent vandalism, and ensure responsible use of the park, while maintaining its open and convivial nature.
What has already been done in the first phase
The initial phase, with an investment of 38.000 Euros, focused on urgent fine-tuning actions for the proper functioning of the space.

Second phase: investment and new works
The City Council plans to mobilize around 200.000 Euros In the second phase, framed in municipal programs co-financed with European funds such as EDUSI and COUNCIL. This package includes the new lighting of the venue, trail rehabilitation, the construction of a services building and improvements in the facilities linked to the animal care, in addition to the aforementioned automatic closing and access control.
Nature classroom and year-round activities
Along with the physical works, the council wants to reactivate the nature classroom with a stable program of cultural and family events. An annual calendar with events for children and the general public is planned, and during the Christmas period storytelling and special lighting to encourage neighborhood participation and attract visitors to the park.
