Succulents

The crass, or succulents not cacti, are extraordinary plants. To survive, they do not store water in their bodies like cacti, but rather in the leaves, which have become fleshy as they have evolved and adapted to places where rainfall is very scarce, with the majority of species originating in Africa.

Under these soil and climate conditions, and thanks to this amazing survival strategy, during the dry season they can survive for several days. But this should not confuse us: When we grow them in our homes or in our gardens, they need a series of special care to be able to grow, and one of them is irrigation. Whether we water them little or if we overdo it, they will have many problems.

Furthermore, the substrate through which they will grow is also important to know, since its roots must be able to be properly aerated to be able to root and carry out its functions. In the event that one is chosen that has very poor drainage, the growth and development of the succulents will be practically nil.
